What is BYF?

BYF (Bet Your Friends) is a social app for making friendly predictions with the people you know. Create a group, put a bet on the board, and back your side with free virtual coins. When it's settled, the leaderboard remembers who called it.

There's no cash involved at any point. Coins are virtual, have no monetary value, and can't be withdrawn or redeemed. BYF is about bragging rights.

Our story

BYF started with my friend group. We were constantly betting each other on everything: who'd win the game, who'd show up late, who'd actually finish the half-marathon. Every weekend someone made a call, someone else disagreed, and a bet was on.

The problem was keeping track. Bets lived in group-chat messages that got buried, nobody remembered the odds, and settling up turned into another argument. We never had a reliable way to make a bet, see who took which side, and know who actually won.

So I built one. BYF puts those calls on the record: back your friends (or bet against them) with virtual coins, let the group settle the result, and let the leaderboard remember who called it. No real money changes hands, ever.

Our mission is to make friendly competition more fun and more social, with zero financial risk. BYF is about bragging rights, not bankrolls.
